We are sad to announce the death of Adriaan Swanepoel, This Way Up models, South Africa on the 19 th May. Adriaan made some excellent kits and will be sadly missed in the modelling world. His wife Lee-Ann will be winding up the business in the coming months, therefore all TWU kits are last stock. He made a lot of cars driven by Aussie/Kiwi drivers and we have limited amounts of these listed kits at 20% off

Coming soon a SMTS kit of the Ferrari 246T that raced in the 1969 Tasman Series. This was basically a Ferrari 166 F2 fitted with a 2.4lt Dino V6. A single car ran in 1968, driven by Chris Amon and he finished second to Jim Clark in the championship. In 1969 they return with a two car team adorned with wings and spoilers for Amon and Derek Bell, Amon won the series and Bell finished fourth. One of the cars was sold to Graham Lawrence for the 1970 season which he duly won. He also ran it in 1971, but up against F5000 cars it was not competitive.

The SMTS kit is only made for the Amon 1969 car but we can add decals for the Bell car, and indeed the 1968 version should be possible too. If we get enough interest we will make a trans kit for the 1970/71 Lawrence version.

We have enough interest in the Neil Allan Mustang to do a run of ten kits, so we will get this made later in the year. Kit $90 built to order $250 reference AMS020A

Decals are back from the printers for the Lola T70 Mk3 GT chassis SL73/112 and we should have the test builds done ready for the next news letter. So drafting has gone off to the printer for the Bartlett Camaro, the 1983 Silverstone Jones/Schuppan Porsche 956 and the 1984 Schuppan 956. Currently Adrian is working on drafting the 1985/86 Dick Jonson Group A Mustangs

New kit realised from Model Factory Hiro HIR43590 Jaguar XJR9 LM this full detailed kit will build either of the 5 cars that raced there in 1988. The #22 car of Larry Perkins is the most interesting to Aussie collectors. Kit price around $240.00

Lots of Aussies and Kiwis at Le Mans this year so we can expect the outright winning Porsche 919 of Earl Bamber/Brendon Hartley to come from Spark. Also from Spark the Graff Orica of James Allen, the #95 Aston Martin of Richie Stanaway, and the Gulf Racing Porsche 911RSR of Nick Foster. We expect TSM to make the Ford GT of Ryan Brisco/Scott Dixon but don’t hold your breath as they still haven’t released the 2016 car yet.

We are expecting the next of the Replicaz Indy car release around the end of the month these are the 1939/40 Boyle Specials (Maseratis). Also from TSM, the McLaren 650S of Van Gisburgen from Silverstone 2015. Pre order required for this model expected retail price $115.00

We have had enough requests for this model to stock it. TSM Ford GT Monterey winner Ryan Brisco retail price $115.00, normal discounts apply. These should be with us in July. It’s a beauty – if you want more images e-mail me

Also due in the next delivery is this Lotus 72 Dave Walker from the US GP 1972. This has been a long time coming. Retail price $110.00

One reason we decided not to make the Suderia Veloce Ferrari 250LM is we heard Best were bring out the Surfers Paradise 12hr version of Jacky Stewart / Andy Buchannan. This retails at $80 but is more toy than a model and of course the nose band is the wrong colour. If you are desperate, to order only, you could always paint the stripe green!!
