Latest News from automodelli studio

February 2010

Long overdue renovation to the Studio will be done during March so during that time we will not be able to receive visitors. We will endeavor to answer phone messages and e-mails as soon as possible but please bear with us during this period as there will be times when we are without power, phones, computers and all stock will be packed away out of harms way.

Eagle-eyed customers and visitors to the website may have noticed that we have removed the ‘Work in Progress’ page. As we build several kits every month we thought a section on how they build would be a good idea. From now on these pages will be a review section for some of the kits we build. not all of them but maybe if we build something by a new manufacturer or a kit of something a little different or just one we feel like writing about. It will not be a critical review, just a write up and an honest opinion of how we found the kit.

In place of the Work in Progress page we have The World of 43rd by John Simons. Recommended reading for those starting the hobby and for those that have been doing it for sometime too.

Now in its third edition, with over 10,000 copies sold, it is a valuable aid to beginner and expert alike. The World of 43rd is the only book available that takes you through the trials and tribulations of building a 1/43rd scale model. In colour, it starts with buying the kit, works through the preparation, painting, building all the way through to display.

It includes sections by some of the leading UK modelers to ensure that you get the best results ever time you build. Also included in section 2 is a fascinating insight into everything that occurs behind the scenes to produce the kits. Price $15 plus postage
