July 2009

The Art Car has been synonymous with BMW for many years from the early cars that race at Le Mans designed by Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Ray Lichtenstein they have now become show cars. In Australia we had our own BMW Art Car designer in Ken Done. In 1989 Ken produced a typical Aussie Aboriginal style on an M3.

A departure from our normal race/rally subjects and, as a challenge to all you molders out there, we thought we would make this available as a kit, to our knowledge this has not been made in kit form before. For those of you who are not interested in being challenged we will of course build it for you. Available late 2009 or early 2010, order now, it will be a limited run and all kits as well as built models will be numbered.

Whilst we are on the subject of 'Art Cars' we can now offer decals to make the winning Audi R8 from the ALMS race Adelaide 2000, the spectacular crocodile car as driven by McNish/Capello. You will need an Audi R8 kit but we can help source one of those for you.

This Way Up have a trio of Shadow DN8 F1s ready now, including the Alan Jones car from the Austrian GP1977. More Jones cars coming soon.

Congratulations to David Brabham on his first Le Mans win, ironically both he and his brother Geoff have now won in a Peugot. We have already been notified that Spark will make a model of this car and most of the others that ran this year. We understand that Provence Moulange (Norev) will be making it as well, and there will also be a kit from Renaissance. Both Redline and BBR will make the Ferrari 430 GTs. Please order now any Le Mans 2009 models that you are interested in.

We have a new supplier for these readymade models and we can also offer the Amalgam A1 GP cars.

Automodelli Studio goes international, our first non-Aussie/Kiwi kit. The TWR XJS Jaguar from Monza 1984 is now available. This kit is a collaboration between us and Gennaro Robustelli who has had the decals printed by Cartograf in Italy. The kit will build either #7, the winning car of Tom Walkinshaw-Hans Heyer or #8 DNF Win Percy-Chuck Nicholson, #9 13th Martin Brundle-Enzo Calderari, and built to order of course.

Last chance. We are coming to the end of some of the early offerings, these are the Subaru WRC Rally of Canberra/Saxon Safari car, only 2 left the Holden Monaro 350GTS Calder 1971, only 1 left, and the Ford Escort RS1800 Southern Cross Rally 1979 ony 2 left.
