We
are getting too big for our boots, well our current web
server actually. The more people using the site the slower
it becomes until it stalls. This is happening more and more
and we have to do something about it. So sometime during
January you may notice our site is down, this is because
we are upgrading to a bigger better and faster server. This
should take no longer than six hours so, if you would just
bear with us while this is taking place, you will be getting
a faster service in the future.
Thought
I would update you all on the business situation. We have
just entered the 5th year in business and, just to prove
I really do need my head examined, we now have a full 1/43
scale accessory range just as the world goes into recession.
The new accessory range will include decals, photo etching,
lights, wheels, tyres and ancillary parts relevant to the
Australian and New Zealand market and are available in the
For Sale section of this website.
Business
partner David Whitehead is now active fulltime and he will
be overseeing the molding/casting and the development of
the low volume decal printing. He will also be building
some of the new HRM range.
At
the moment, due to the very poor Dollar/Euro exchange rate,
we have decided not to hold stock of kits from other manufacturers.
We do have some stock of Aus/NZ related items and it may
be wise to check them out as they are at pre-inflation prices.
But from now on you can expect to pay at least 20% more
for kits/models from mainland Europe.
The
2nd placed BMW635CSi #21 from Bathurst 1985 Bob Jane T Marts
and the 1986 #7 T Marts Channel 7 version are now available
in kit form or built to order. The kit will build either
version, price $85 or two kits for $150. Built $250 each.
It is also possible to build the current version thaat can
be seen in the National Motor Racing Museum, Bathurst.
Drafting
for the Dick Johnson Racing Shell Sierra RS 500s is done
and at the printers All fourteen versions of these cars
will be possible.
Kit
AUT021A will build any of the 5 cars 1987/88 with BBS wheels.
Kit AUT021 will build any of the 9 cars from 1989 to 1992
with 7 spoke wheels. This is proving to be very popular
and, if pre-orders are anything to go by, it could be a
best seller.
Once
we have cleared the backlog of 2008 releases, we hope to
have a few new models for 2009 in the HRC kit based range.
There will be the Mobil sponsored Rover SD1s from Bathurst
1984 and the Mobil BMW M3s from 1987 and later the ANZ/Cenovis
Allan Moffat Racing RS500s from 1987 to 1992.
With
a little luck we should see the first of the F5000 during
the early part of 2009. These cars are a collaboration between
Model Make Colin Frazer (Formula Models in the UK). Yank
Models in the USA and Automodelli Studio. We are also working
with another European manufacturer on some more Aus Grand
Prix cars.
Fame
at last. Automodelli Studiohas been published internationally.
You have no doubt seen articles on our products in Australian
motoring magazines, now Tamiya Model Magazine International
will carry a review of our B&H Sierra in the January
09 issue.
Just
released, a new kit range from Top Model Collection. These
are mainly Le Mans cars from the 1950s through to the 1980s.
They have all been previously released by other manufacturers
but, with the deluge of ready built models of recent times,
it is good to have kits of these vehicles. Considering the
Dollar/Euro exchange rate they are good prices too, at around
$80.
We
hear that Milestone Miniatures from the UK bit the dust.
They have been around in various forms since the late 70s
and had many interesting models in their handbuilt ranges.
Also we are having difficulty in contacting JPS in France.
Let's hope they are not another casualty of the 'credit
crunch'.
