February 2009

A couple of new stock items this month from Marsh Models. First the Can Am Shadow DN4B of Alan Jones from Mosport 1977 and the Ford G7A Can Am of Jack Brabham from Michigan 1969
GBP/AU$ exchange rate is very good at the moment so these are excellent value for money when compared to most mainland European kits at $90

News from Provence Miniatures is they have been sold again. Heco took them on from the receivers in late 2007 but things have been very quiet since because they have found that they can not run their own very successful handbuilt model business and the PMA kit/built range. So they have sold it to Philippe Benoit who will continue to produce the range as before, with rally cars and Le Mans as the main subjects. They have just released a couple of very nice looking Alpines, an A110 from Corsica rally 1973 and an A310 from the Cevenole rally 1976, but prices have crept up to $130 for a kit.

New built range from BBR called Concept 43, the first of which is the Launch version of the Ferrari F2008. If their press release is anything to go by, it is the best 1/43 scale model every built…………. but to stand any chance of getting them they must be pre-ordered.

Concept43, quality and innovation BBR at its full expression. Faithful reproduction of the aerodynamic small parts by using steel details. This has enabled the perfect replica in 1/43 scale with thicknesses ever seen. Exhaust pipes are made in steel turned parts and all suspensions have on the carbon fiber reproduction decal. The seat belts are reproduced with metal-plastic and fabric parts for a total of 10 pieces. The model is composed of over 140 pieces in just 11 cm of total length. Painting and assembly are guaranteed by a BRAND that more than 25 years is synonymous of quality and perfection.

This is a model where the concept of "collection" finds its true value. New box and new design for the base made up with two different materials. Exclusive art-work by BBR. The model is in limited series of 509 pcs all with serial number.

Work has started on the 1935/36 Australian GP winning MG P type of Les Murphy this will be part of the Aus GP series and also available as a kit which will build either year. We have also started on the Cooper Bristol (Holden) Redex Special of Jack Brabham this will be available built or as a kit that will build several versions.

Coming soon from Ugo Fadini a limited edition handbuilt model of 'Enterprise' speed record car of Norman 'Wizard' Smith that set a LSR for the flying 10 mile in New Zealand 1932

We have revised the Suppliers Page as we can obtain kits/models & accessories from more than 100 of them now, from the major manufactures to the obscure one man 'artisan' builder. One we can't supply any longer is JPS models. Jean-Paul Schartz has called it a day and gone into retirement. We wish him well, but unfortunately there goes another kit manufacturer.

An up to date version of the Le Mans Bible is to be re-printed. This was first published in 1993 and covered Le Mans 1923 to 1992 Jean-Marc Teissedre is going to update it to include 1993 to 2010 Although it will be expensive start saving this is well worth the money for Le Mans modelers.

Distribution of the Spark Porsche 997 GT3-RSR of Alex Davison from LM 2008 has started so we should be getting our order within the next few weeks
