July News 2008

For several years now customers have been asking how the 1/43 scale specialist model car business started, well there is now a website dedicated to just this subject www.1-43.net Over time this site should grow into the most comprehensive account of the business.

One of the first models we released three and a half years ago was the Subaru Impreza WRC from the Rally of Canberra - Saxon Safari Tasmania 1999 there are just 4 kits of this model left. If you have been putting off obtaining this model, don’t put it off any longer. We do have a few spare decal sheets but only a few, when they're gone this will not be re-made by us.

The only Aussie at Le Mans again this year was David Brabham who finished 13th overall and 1st in GT1 class in the Aston Martin DBR9. This car is likely to be modeled by several ready made manufacturers and probably as a kit by Renaissance and maybe PMA. The winning Audi R10 will, of course, be made by many also, but Marsh Models are likely to be the first kit on the market as they already have the car made and are just waiting for the decals. Marsh will also be making the Porsche RS cars from the LMP 2 class.

Thing are about to get a little more confusing in the 1/43 scale model world with the re-emergence of the name Provence Moulage. Some years ago Provence Moulage was a prolific kit manufacturer which went bankrupt early this century. From Provence Moulage emerged Provence Miniature Automobiles who went the same way not long after. PMA reemerged under the Heco Models banner and now the name Provence Moulage is back as part of the Norev range of die-cast models, just to prove how incestuous the French model industry can be.

We can now offer turned alloy wheels and centre loc nuts. These come in sizes 9.8mm dia(14”) 10.2mm dia(15”) and 10.8mm dia(16”) all are 6mm wide. Polished alloy much nicer than painted resin. In the near future we will also be offering photo etched wheel centres, disc brakes/calipers to fit these alloy wheels. Starting with replacement wheels for the Porsche 956/962’s
