As
this news letter comes out in the first days of January, many of you in the southern
hemisphere will be on vacation, so I hope you all have a good one.As
promised in the December news letter, an update on what we have planned for 2008.
We plan to make kits & built models of Aus/NZ
subjects that the mass production die-cast guys dont make. For obvious reasons
we dont intend to compete with them by making the same model. Our main ranges,
like the Bathurst car, will be limited to 150 total, kits and built models. That
means, if the kit will build 2 different models then there will be only 75 of
each or, if the kit will build 3 models, then there will be only 50 of each.
We
also intend to make very short runs of some Aussie models, those that dont
warrant longer decal runs will be made using laser printed decals, maximum of
20 kits or built models. One of our Aus specials will be the Brock/Perkins Porsche
956 in both short tail (Silverstone 1984) and long tail (Le Mans 1984) configurations.
Available as individual kits or as a pair, also built singly or as a pair.
Also
we will continue with the Aus GP winners, these are built only 10 of each, and
we have started on the Tasman Series with the BRM P261. They will be available
in kit or built form.
As for the Bathurst series,
drafting for the Sierra Cosworth RS500 B&H car is underway and hopefully will
be less of a problem than the BMWs have been. After the Sierras we plan to make
the Jaguar XJS from 1985, and later a kit to make various Minis from the 1960s,
including the 1966 winner of course.
See
our Whats New page for imminent releases by
us and our partners. We are expecting the Holden Commodore VK group C car from
Bathurst 1984 very soon and, if this sells anything like the A9X, I suggest you
order it now!
In the new ‘coming
soon’ section you will see a huge program of new kit releases from many manufacturers
and Jade Miniatures in particular, but as we have found this year, these maybe
just a little exaggerated. There is a good chance that we may see some Aus GP
cars in kit form, K&R Replicas as they are interested in making the Lax Davison
Ferrari 625s. It is looking like we will have to make the Stirling Moss Maserati
250F as it is not possible to build it from an available kit currently on the
market, so this will be available in kit form too. With the assistance of Jemmpy
we will be looking at making the BMW 325i, M3 & 318i as well as the Bob Jane T
Marts 635CSi from 1985/86 and the group ‘C’ JPS 625CSi from 1983/84 in the coming
year.
As well as all these new models we have to
fit in a trip to Europe to meet our partners Jemmpy, Axel’R and Interdecal.
