Close
on the heels of the Alezan Alfa Sprint Giocattolo Holden
V8 is another Aussie super car. This time from Spark,
a Schuppan Porsche 962CR. Yes, this is a road car based
on the Porsche 962 IMSA race car. Constructed in the UK,
it was a true super car with a top speed of 230mph -it
eventually bankrupted Vern after two cars sent to Japan
didnt get paid for. It is believed there are 5 or
6 real examples in existence. The models come in Black,
Silver or Metallic Blue (Japan). The Black version has
different wheels and rear view mirrors to the Silver/Blue
versions. We now have suppliers in UK/Europe, USA and
Japan for Spark, Bizarre and Red Line models, so we should
be able to obtain any of these brands. Prices will vary
due to exchange rate and postage.
If
you are into Land Speed Record cars, Bizarre have just
released Thrust SSC, the current record holder at 763.035
mph. Price approx $300, but it is a big model even in
1/43 scale.
We
have decided to drop plans to make our own Tasman Series
range until we can find out what is likely to be available
from other manufacturers. We understand that SMTS, Spark,
Jade Miniatures all have model in the pipeline.
The
latest postal price increases are mainly insurance related
and there is now an International Registered Parcel service
which means we can send kits/models signed for, but uninsured,
with a saving of around 30% to Europe, USA, Asia &
NZ
Parcel
prices have remained the same within Australia, but insurance
has increased. We have experienced some delays recently
within Australia with some packages taking twice the estimated
time to arrive. Unfortunately, if payment has not cleared
by 9AM Friday, goods will not normally be posted until
the following Friday and, with the delays we are experiencing,
it can be more than 14 days before you receive them. So
we will try and post twice a week, Tuesday & Friday
from now on.
