Beyond
our control and due mainly to the current economic climate,
goods from Europe may vary by more than the quoted 10%.
Not only have the manufacturers increased their prices
due to material costs but, with the Aussie dollar now
close on 2 to 1 against the Euro, we have seen prices
increase by as much as much as 30% in the last few months.
Axel'R
have released their long awaited Lola from Le Mans 1960
car #45. Roger always makes interesting and unusual subjects
and this is no exception. This car has not been modeled
for many years in fact the last version I can remember
was from Mikansue around 35 years ago.
We
now have stock of the Amon 101 from This Way Up. There
are two versions available, Spain or Monaco 1974 kit price
$120. We have some new decal sheets, these include some
of those naughty cigarette sponsors. Also there is a new
range of general petrol, oil, tyre sponsors in various
sizes. See decals page for details.
Duke
Marketing have just released a box set of 1980/89 Le Mans
DVDs which cover a large amount of the Group C area. If
you didn't get them when they were originally released
as individual years, then they are a must for all LM enthusiasts.
Group C brought back the major manufacturers to Le Mans
and some superb racing between Porsches, Mercedes, Jaguar,
Aston Martin as well as the private teams. While we are
on the subject of Le Mans, the ACO have just released
this year's annual.
We
can now offer the new 1/43 scale range of ready made models
from Neo Scale (Netherlands). Their range covers many
new and classic British, German and Scandinavian marques
like Alvis, Jaguar, Mercedes, Volvo, Saab, Opel, Audi,
etc etc. Check out their range at Neo
Scale Models, the price around the $100 mark.
Both
Spark and Minichamps are making the Alex Davison Porsche
GT3 from LM 2008. We don't normally stock these ranges
but, if anyone is interested, we will order them in. Also
the Brabham Aston Martin DBR9 from this year's race. Price
around $AU 85 for either of these models.
We
should have the decals for the Bob Jane T Marts BMW635CSi
Bathurst 1985/86 in the next week or two which means the
kits will be ready before Christmas and builts shortly
after.
Also
the OXO Sierra kits are ready now. The next Sierra will
be the Dick Johnson Shell cars from Bathurst 1987 to 1992
and this kit will include decal/wheel variations to enable
any of the 14 different versions to be made. Next year
we will be making the Allan Moffat Racing Sierra RS500
again, all versions from Bathurst 1987 to 1992.
The
Mini racing Moffat/Harvey VL Commodore from Monza 1987
is now around 20 years old and we have decided it needs
a little updating, so all new kits and built versions
will come with better Rothmans decals, new wheel centres
and photo etched fuel fillers.
We
also plan to make the extra decals for the 4th place Spa
24hr version soon.
Another
model we are planning for next year is the Holden VL Commodore
TWR. First will be the HRT Telecom Mobile/Castrol versions
from 1989/90 with hopefully others to follow.
Any
of you going to the Sandown Historic 8/9 November, come
and say hello. We will be sharing a stand with Pit Stop
model cars as usual.
Also,
anyone attending the Tasman Revival meeting at Eastern
Creek on the last weekend of November, let us know.
We
are not having a trade stand as their prices are rather
too much for a small business like us, but we will be
there and if you are around, I will buy you a coffee or,
as we will be staying locally, maybe a beer on Saturday/Sunday
evening. Over that weekend we will be available on the
mobile 0431 281 614.
