As
this is the last newsletter for the year and most of you
in the southern hemisphere will be on holiday for the
January 09 issue, I thought I would give you early notice
of what we are planning for next year.
Continuing
with the models that should have been released in 2008
but were delayed due mainly to drafting/printing of decals,
we will have the HRC Bathurst/PI Mercedes 220SE, Jaguar
XJS, Shell Sierra and the Aussie Minis. Later in the year
we hope to have the Alan M offat Sierras 1987 to 1992,
and we are working on the Walkinshaw VL Commodore from
1989/90. The BMW635CSi T Marts decals have been printed
and posted from France so they should be here before Christmas.
The
Historic Racing Marquee Range
There
will be a new series of built models for 2009, the Historic
Racing Marquee range.
First
is the Jim McKeown Porsche 911S, these will be limited
to 25 only and the model will be available as any version
from the 1970 season. Calder Park (3rd) Bathurst (4th)
Warwick Farm (1st) Lakeside (3rd) Symmons Plains (1st).
Jim
ran this car in 5 of the 7 races and came second in the
series to Norm Beechey in the Holden Monaro 350 GTS, which
we also have available in pre-painted kit form or built.
Future
models in this range will include Ron Thorp's AC 289 Cobra
and the C.Amon/B.Brown Ferrari 350P4. If you have any
suggestions for others please let
me know.
Whilst
we have customers crying out for models of classic cars
like the Jaguar XK, Morgan, Riley, Bristol etc, what do
we get - another manufacturer, Blue Box, making Ferraris
- and what gems have they come up with !!! A whole bunch
of 250 GTOs. Come on guys, get a life, we don't need any
more Ferraris. At least Neo Scale Models from Holland
are trying with some very nice models of classics, like
Jaguar Mk7 Reliant Scimitar, Alvis TD 21 and Jenson Interceptor.
Take a look at their site, Neo
Scale Models, we are happy to get any of their 1/43
scale range.
We
have some new decals, 0.5mm wide by 1100mm stripes 6 white,
5 silver, 4 yellow, 4 orange, 5 gold, 4 red, 4 green,
4 blue and 8 black, suitable for many applications. Price
$6 per sheet including post within Australia.
The
next item is a little disturbing if you live in Canberra.
Over the last couple of months we have had several packages
go missing, or returned as undeliverable. Even items sent
from customers in Canberra to us are not arriving. So
I'm afraid that if you have an ACT postcode, we will
only post by registered mail and I suggest, if you
are sending anything, that you do the same.
Can
you help?
We
need images of the A Moffat-J Harvey 1987 GrA VL Commodore
so we can make a transkit for the Spa/Jarama car to go
with the mini racing Monza kit. We especially need rear
end shots from any of the races.
