Latest News from automodelli studio

February 2007

This months new releases

For those of you that subscribe to FWS magazine you will have read the pure fantasy that they published in their last offering 10/06. I am, of course, referring to the article on the Automodelli Studio Chevron B8 by Wayne Moyer. The kit he could not build as the proper model and chose to build a model of a B8 that runs in the British Historic Sports Car series using our kit, only problem is our B8 is unique to the car that is raced in Australia by Max Brunninghausen and is not the fantasy car that he has derived. It surprises me greatly that Grand Prix Models, the number one supplier of our type of models and the publisher of FWS, went ahead and published this article. After contacting me to ask for my opinion and being told that it was the wrong kit to have used, they totally ignored my statement and published it anyway. This does bring into question other articles by Mr. Moyer they may publish.

On to reality, an Automodelli Studio customer has put together a list of Aus/NZ drivers that have driven at Le Mans, we are adding to that list the known models that are currently available and those that have been available in the pass and can often still be found. If there is anyone interested in this list we will be happy to e-mail it to you.

We are currently talking to manufacturer, Jemmpy, in France about supplying kits so as we can put together some more Aussie models. They produce the base kit and we will add parts and decals to make the Australian version. The subject we have in mind are the Sierra Cosworth’s, BMW 635csi, BMW 325i, from Bathurst also a Team Bond Escort RS1800 driven by Bjorn Waldegard / Hans Thorszelius on the Southern Cross rally 1979 these should be available during the coming months.

We are also talking to Jade Miniatures about releasing Aussie versions of their kits, especially cars driven by Sir Jack Brabham as they already make the model, it would take little to add the necessary decals for the Sir Jack versions. Cars like the Aston Martin DBR1/300 from Le Mans 1958 that Jack and Sterling Moss drove or the Maserati 250F he drove prior to joining Cooper.
